Join the Outdoor & Active Festival Online from 27th March to 3rd April

I don't think the irony escapes anyone that the National Outdoor & Active Festival is being held online, likely with its audience firmly entrenched in their sofas but hey, what can you do? I for one am absolutely thrilled that I get to spend a ton of time between the 27th March and 3rd April watching adventurers talk about, well, adventures. Online or not, we were never going to be watching the talks in the National Outdoor Expo while simultaneously hiking up the Chief.

This event has been created due to the cancellation of this year's National Outdoor Expo, a massive event that sees extraordinary outdoors obsessives, adventurers, explorers and all the other oft-muddy people take to the stage, tell their stories and generally inspire us all.

And it's gonna be a good one.

Up for learning about everything from trail running and endurance adventures to camping and adventure filmmaking? Yeah I thought so.

The Outdoor & Active Festival Line-Up

There are some fantastic speakers lined up for this festival and several live streams. The event's website is already packed with lots of interesting videos and articles so even if you can't make the live stuff, there's plenty to keep you occupied. The live streams are in the evening too, so you don't have to mute yourself during your work zoom meetings so they don't find out you're actually at a digital festival.

27th March - Adventure Interviews

Tune in at 6 pm BST to hear Ben Fogle interviewed by endurance runner Susie Chan and then hear from the endurance athlete Katie-Jane Herpiniere at 6:30 pm.

28th March - Walking Interviews

From 6 pm on Sunday, hear from Dwayne Fields, an extraordinary adventurer heading to the South Pole in 2022. Alex Roddie, Jenny Tough and Nicholas Crane will all be there too, chatting walking, adventures and getting outdoors.

29th March - Excursions

Again at 6 pm, here from adventurers Elise Downing, Frit Sarita Tam and Calum Maclean. I don't know what excursions they'll be talking about but knowing these three, it's going to be amazing.

Adventure Adventure Adventure Talks

That subhead isn't a mistake, I just got carried away because erm hello soon we might actually all be able to go adventuring again can you feel it I'm so excited I'd be dancing right now if it didn't inhibit my spelling. Ahem.

The names above are only some of the live streams and the festival has lots of other amazing speakers offering live and on-demand videos and articles throughout the week. I suggest you put your best fleece on, make a cup of coffee with your Alpkit Brewkit, get out your sleeping bag and tune in from your lounge.

Did I mention the tickets are free?

Yuh.

Right, I'm off for a run because these legs aren't going to strengthen themselves.
